Social Welfare Residential Student made it Harvard University Summer Programme
Abject poverty and unfavorable circumstances didn’t dampen Anand’s spirit from setting his goal sky high. It’s a dream come true for me, says jubilant Anand who made it to the prestigious Harvard Summer Crossroads Programe in open competition at Asia level. Anand is one among the few students who got selected for this programme from Asia. “My life changed after joining the Social Welfare Residential school Ibrahimpatnam, said Anand. Had I not studied in social welfare schools and college, I would not have got this opportunity. I will be going to Dubai to attend this programme soon.
The Swaeros Ten Commandments are a source of inspiration for me and I always aspired to be at the top to change the course of my life and also the lives of the poor communities. I will break the glass ceiling by setting up a big business enterprise and provide jobs to the poor, a confident Anand says
Dr RS Praveen Kumar expressed happiness over the selection of Anand and said that this proves what equal opportunity can do to the marginalized children. Dr Kumar said, ‘we are leaving no stone unturned to provide ample opportunities to the needy children in our endeavor to make world class academicians while thanking the Chief Minister. The TSWREIS is on the path of instilling a sense of self confidence among the students by exposing them to a number of activities such as Summer Samurai camps.
Dr Praveen Kumar thanked the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the minister for Scheduled Caste Development Department for their support and encouragement.
