Legislators Please Check ongoing construction of Canals1 Works
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has asked the legislators to take initiative in examining the works going on in construction of canals, repairs and under Mission Bhagiratha and find out the progressive of works from time to time. Whenever there is a problem and delay in the execution of works, the Legislators should intervene and speed up the works, the CM said.
The CM has held meeting with several Legislators at Pragathi Bhavan here on Sunday. Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, Legislative Council Vice Chairman Vidyasagar, Mission Bhagiratha Vice Chairman Vemula Prashant Reddy, Legislators DS Redyanaik, Koneru Konappa, Teegala Krishna Reddy, Kale Yadaiah, Sri Puvvada Ajay, Stephenson, Sudhir Reddy, Bajireddy Goverdhan, Rekha Naik, Baburao Rathod, Sayanna, Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Warangal Mayor Nannapuneni Narender participated.
The CM said before completing Kaleswaram Project Barrage, Pump Houses, the construction of canals should be completed and the MLAs should pay attention to it. He said that for projects like Devadula, SRSP there are canals but were full of silt as they are not in use rendering feeder channels and canals useless. There is an urgent need to repair them. The MLAs should identify where to attend the repair work and ensure that the officials are on the job. There are many irrigation projects are coming up in the State and water is to be supplied through the canal system and hence the canals should be completed first. Since there are proposals to fill the tanks with water from the barrages, if the canals are ready, tanks can be filled up with water, the CM said.
The CM also suggested that the legislators should also keep track of the works going on under Mission Bhagiratha in their respective Constituencies. He asked the MLAs to find out how far the works on Intake Wells, Pump Houses, Sub Stations and pipeline executed, will the works be completed on scheduled time or not? Incase there is a problem, bring it to the notice of the Mission Bhagiratha Vice Chairman and officials concerned. Works will be speeded up if the MLAs take responsibility. The CM said by end of this year, every village will get the drinking water and the MLAs should take initiative to see that water tanks and internal pipeline works are completed.
Sheep units for the villages merged under Greater Warangal
The CM has instructed officials concerned to sanction Sheep units to Yadavs and Kurumas in 42 villages that are merged with the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation. Warangal Mayor Sri Narender brought to the notice of the CM that Yadavs and Kurumas from the 42 villages, which merged under Greater Warangal, will miss the opportunity get sheep units sanctioned for the rural areas. He said Yadavs and Kurumas constituted a major percentage of population in these 42 villages and they were all dependent on Sheep rearing for generations together. The Mayor wanted these people should become beneficiaries of the Sheep rearing Scheme. Responding positively to the request, the CM has asked Warangal District Collector Ms Amrapali to enlist Yadavs and Kurumas from these villages in the Societies and implement the Sheep Rearing Scheme to them.
Residential Schools for ST Girls
The CM has instructed that the proposed residential Schools for ST Girls should start functioning from this June. He wanted these schools to come up in the district where the ST population is more. He asked Minister Sri Chandulal to prepare the final list forthwith.
