Cyber Police arrest two persons who cheated debit cards holders and sent them to remand. B.Lingaswamy resides in Pochampally village of yadadri Bhongir District. He received a call from Mob N. 7484865561 On 27th November 2016, that he is Manager of SBI Debit Cards Division and told that, he is updating the Debit Cards and for that reason he needs the card details such as card number, date of expiry , CVV Number. The victim believed him and shared the above details, after that, he said he will be sending a confirmation code to verify whether he is real card holder. Very next movement the victim received One Time Password (OTP) for making payments but the victim in spite of the warning generated along with the OTP not to share it with any others, shared the OTP with the caller believing him to be bank official. After few seconds he received several SMSs that, an amount of Rs. 98,000/- has been debited to his saving bank account. After receiving the messages the victim called back the fraudster and enquired why he has received SMS stating that, money has been debited from his account. On that the fraudster made him to believe that, due to recalibration of his ATM Card he received such messages and need not be worried and disconnected the phone. After two day when he enquired with his banker he realized that, he got cheated and given a complaint to police. On receipt of the above complaint police has been registered a case and took up the investigation. During the course of investigation it is found that, the fraudster transferred the money online from the victims bank account to various E-wallets, subsequently again transferred the money to saving bank accounts. Basing on the evidence collected, a team lead by SI Ashish Reddy deputed to Jharkhand where two persons Shankar Mandal. s, aged about 36 years, account holder wherein the fraudulent money has been transferred and the agent Md. Bablu Ansari, aged about 25 years, both of them resident of dwarpahari village, Birni Police Station, Giridih district, Jharkhand State were arrested and brought to Hyderbad on transit warrant. Both the accused have been remanded to judicial custody. The main accused who made call to the victim has been identified and will be arrested soon, said cyber police. The case is being investigated by Md. Riyazuddin inspector Cyber Cell under the supervision of D. Janaki Addl. D.C.P (Crimes).
