Civic related works to be ready to tackle the emergency situation
TummalaNageshwar Rao, Minister for R&B directed all the Heads of the line Departments to be alert to take up the road repairing and other civic related works to be ready to tackle the emergency situation during the rainy season and there should not be any lapse and all necessary care has to be taken not to repeat the situations which have been occurred last year.
Along With Minister DR. B. Rammohan, Mayor, Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor, Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC along with all senior officials of various wings of Government departments held a meeting at MCHRD Institute today.
Minister said that the main purpose of the meeting is for monsoon preparedness and action plan and coordination among all the heads of the departments to take up the works in a systematic and phased manner to derive good results. The Hon’ble Minister said that the roads under the control of R&B, National Highways, Radial roads and the roads under GHMC, HMDA must be kept pot hole free for the convenience of the citizens.
Tummala further stated that as per the vision of the Hon’ble CM to make Hyderabad a Global City and all needs of the citizens and developmental activities has to be taken up on priority for which the State government has taken up the SRDP project with a cost of Rs. 23,000 crores, Rs. 2,631 crores has been released in first phase and tenders have been processed and the works are being taken up said the Minister.
The National Highway roads from L.B.Nagar to Hayathnagar, Uppal elevated Corridor, Aram Ghar etc., for these works the Hon’ble CM has already taken lot of initiatives with the Government of India for overall development of the project and even the Government of India has also assured to release some of the funds for the said project.
B. Rammohan, Mayor, Hyderabad said that the GHMC with the help of State Government taking up major projects like SRDP, improvement of junctions and overall development of the city as per the vision of the Hon’ble CM the GHMC is striving hard to make the City to that of a global from the last three years.
Mayor stated that lakhs of visitors are visiting to Hyderabad where more than one crore of population and lakhs of vehicles are being used on these roads for free flow of traffic there is every need for the further development of the city in a more appropriate way this could be possible only with over all coordination among the heads of the departments for this purpose this meeting has been arranged under the chairmanship of Minister for R&B.
